Real estate agent Peter Spencer (John Cho) thinks selling 44 Reyburn Drive will be business as usual. What he isn’t prepared for is the curse that lies upon it and affects anyone who enters. When he visits the house and draws the attention of the spirits within, he does what any other threatened citizen would do and calls the police.
Detective Muldoon (Andrea Goodman) picks up the call and goes to investigate, discovering that someone was murdered at the property. In fact, the house is now inhabited by a vengeful ghost who spent their final living moments filled with rage, creating a curse that now brings anyone who enters the house to a violent, gruesome end.
Yet, Detective Muldoon is unaware of the ghost’s presence. She continues investigating deaths in the area and enters the house herself. That’s when she finds out she’s been cursed and both she and her son are in grave danger. Is there a way to save their lives and undo the hex?
Sam Raimi (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead) produces and Nicolas Pesce (Piercing, The Eyes of My Mother) directs this reboot of the Japanese classic Ju-On: The Grudge, which occurs on the same timeline as the 2004 horror of the same name. BAFTA nominee Andrea Riseborough (Mandy, The Death of Stalin, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)), Emmy nominee Betty Gilpin (GLOW, Isn’t It Romantic) and John Cho (Searching, Star Trek Beyond) star in this supernatural fright.
