Watch Oppenheimer the way it’s meant to be seen…

The highly-anticipated film, Oppenheimer, is set to hit the screens on Friday 21st July and with Europe’s second-largest IMAX screen, there’s only one cinema that’s worth booking tickets for this biographical thriller! Printworks’ Vue Cinema is one of just 3 sites in the UK, and the only place outside of London, where you can watch Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX, to experience every second the way it’s meant to be seen!
Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The film was written and directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas, Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Nolan. It stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons, often credited as the “father of the atomic bomb”. As on his previous works, Nolan utilised extensive practical effects and minimal computer-generated imagery for Oppenheimer.
Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema shot the film in a combination of IMAX 70mm and 70mm large-format film including, for the first time, sections in IMAX black & white analog photography. Only in IMAX theatres will sequences shot with IMAX film cameras expand vertically to fill the entire screen. With the 70mm film reel, these scenes will expand images up to a 1.43:1 aspect ratio, delivering a distinctive and unique way to experience the film – the way director Christopher Nolan intended.
