Our Transformation

Our iconic Manchester venue has recently been granted planning permission for a £9m redevelopment, which includes the introduction of Europe’s largest indoor digital ceiling.

Measuring in at 1,300m², our new digital screen will create a canvas for fully immersive visual and audio experiences and will be accompanied by a large interactive screen situated in the central Pump Yard for social gaming and more.

Key points:

  • £9 million refurbishment
  • Europe’s largest digital
    ceiling screen
  • Large interactive screen
    with social gaming capabilities
  • New entrances, lighting
    and signage

Overall, the works will see improvements made to the aesthetics of the building with new entrances, lighting and signage to make our venue more welcoming during both day and night and cater for our 24/7 audience.

The plans submitted by DTZ Investors, the owners of Printworks, mark the first major investment since we first opened 20 years ago. In recent years, we have already expanded our food and drink offer to include activity-led venues such as Treetop Adventure Golf, Escape Reality and Tenpin Bowling (coming soon).

Our venues will remain open and trading throughout the refurbishment. Work has been structured to ensure minimum disruption to our venues and visitors.

We have also benefited from an overhaul of our branding, including this brand new website, where you can stay up to date on the latest development news, events, offers, and menus.

The granting of the planning permission marks a huge milestone for Printworks as a landmark building within Manchester city centre for over 20 years. We have been sympathetic to the building’s heritage façade, whilst also recognising the need for technology and innovation to ensure that Printworks responds to occupier trends. Enhancements to the physical environment, alongside our latest restaurant and competitive socialising offer, will give customers a best in class immersive and memorable experience adding to the scheme’s international reputation in the leisure market.
