Printworks is excited to introduce Spider Box at the end of the month.

This groundbreaking venue will feature immersive experiences such as reimagined music quizzes, sim racing on famous tracks, live music, and Dex—the UK’s first digital human DJ.

This weekend, Printworks will be the center of national celebrations, honoring Team GB’s achievements at the Paris Games.

In a stunning display of pride, we have transformed Europe’s largest digital ceiling into a 1,000 square metre tribute, featuring bespoke Union Jack flags and a bold “Welcome Home Team GB” message, celebrating our athletes’ incredible success.

The tribute extends to the exterior, where the outdoor screen features all 50 Team GB athletes, including Tom Daley, Noah Williams, and Keely Hodgkinson.

For Mancunians celebrating Team GB during Homecoming Weekend, Printworks is the perfect destination, offering a stunning display and exclusive food and drink deals.

At Hard Rock Cafe, savor the World Burger Tour 2024 Finalists, with gourmet burgers from the USA, Brazil, and India. Nando’s offers new salads and bowls, including the Spicy Rice Bowl with PERi-PERi seeds.

Printworks Unveils Unique Portrait

Tom Daley has officially been crowned the UK’s favourite Olympian, according to a nationwide survey conducted by consumer insight business, Vypr. Over a third of Brits (36%) voted for Tom as their gold choice. He beat swimmer, Adam Peaty with one in five (20%) voting him into silver spot and runner, Keely Hodgkinson came in bronze on the podium with 10% of the votes.

To mark this accolade, Printworks unveiled a striking 3m x 4m portrait of the diver, made entirely from over 600 salad items. This extraordinary artwork was crafted by renowned Britain’s Got Talent artist, Nathan Wyburn.

Hard Rock Cafe donated ingredients for the masterpiece which included 20 lettuces, 300 tomatoes, 30 cucumbers, 20 bags of spinach, a rainbow of 200 peppers and 10 tubs of tomato puree.

But wait, there’s more – weight to be precise! As resistance bands and kettlebells, donated by Nuffield Health, added a whole new layer to this edible artwork.

Talking of the unique portrait, Nathan said: “The salad portrait took over five hours to create on the day of the unveiling, along with extensive planning and practice to capture Daley’s likeness, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Tom is a true sporting icon, and he’s never looked so fresh – especially when made entirely of salad!”.

After the public exhibition, all salad components from the portrait were donated to the rabbits at Longford Park Animal Corner, ensuring the unique artwork supported the local community.

A Summer of Sport

Last week, Printworks kicked off its weekly Summer of Sport events, designed to keep kids entertained throughout the half-term.

Make this summer unforgettable by heading to Manchester’s premier entertainment destination for the ultimate free fun!

To celebrate the return of the world’s biggest sporting event, we hosted a spectacular opening ceremony party.

Partnering with Madame Tussauds, we were delighted to welcome Mo Farah’s wax figure at Printworks. Positioned in his iconic Mobot pose under Europe’s largest digital ceiling, Mo became the perfect selfie companion for guests celebrating the start of the world’s biggest sporting event.

The event also marked the return of our popular multiplayer gaming experience on our new digital screen, along with free face painting, candy floss and prizes for the little ones.

Guests were also treated to a viewing of the official opening ceremony on our brand-new digital screen, located under Europe’s largest digital ceiling, creating a truly unique and memorable experience.

Sashay Onto The BIG Screen

Ever dreamed of seeing yourself on the big screen? Now’s your chance at Printworks! We are excited to announce our spectacular Manchester Pride competition in partnership with UK Drag Race star, Banksie!

The ‘Runway Revolution‘ competition invites Mancunians to showcase their best runway walks, which will be featured on our BIG screen over Manchester Pride Weekend.

To join the fun, simply grab your phone or enlist a friend to capture your fiercest runway walk. Think you can strut it better than Banksie?

How to Enter:

For those eager to strut their stuff in the ‘Runway Revolution‘ competition, film in portrait mode so we can see you from head to toe and each walk should be roughly 20-30 seconds long. Once you’re ready, upload your videos using the link below – it couldn’t be easier.

Every catwalk will be showcased under Europe’s largest digital ceiling during Manchester Pride Weekend (23 – 26 August) and better yet, UK Drag Race star, Banksie will judge your struts!

An Unmissable Experience

Printworks launches the Summer of Sport with free weekly events to entertain the kids throughout half-term.

Kicking off with our Opening Ceremony Party on 26th July between 3:30 – 6pm, guests can enjoy our multi-player gaming event hosted by a BBC Radio Manchester presenter as well as candy floss giveaways, free Team GB face painting and the chance to meet Sir Mo Farrah (well, his wax figure!)

You can also watch the opening ceremony under Europe’s largest digital ceiling with your pals. This summer will be unforgettable!

Ready, set, GO!

Join us on for a vibrant opening ceremony party celebrating Team GB! Snap photos with Sir Mo Farah’s wax figure, dive into gaming sessions and enjoy free face painting and candyfloss for the first 250 visitors.

Guests can also catch the official ceremony from 6:30pm. Savour the view from Tank & Paddle, Chiquito. Hard Rock Café will also give kids with Team GB face paint a free sundaes (when purchasing a kid’s meal).

Spider Box Manchester, a next-generation social entertainment venue, opens this September at Printworks. It offers immersive music quizzes, live music, karaoke, and a delightful food and drink menu.

Perfect for families, friends, corporate groups, and students, the venue features a weekly lineup of live music with local artists and bands, and a residency by Dex, the UK’s first digital human DJ.

Spider Box’s innovative music quizzes let players immerse themselves in tech-infused booths with customisable rounds and regular updates. Bookable karaoke booths provide a fun experience with changeable landscapes, including music videos and festival backdrops.
