Manchester’s Big Screen Moment

Lights, Camera, Manchester! The 48 Hour Film Project Premieres at Printworks

Ready for a Challenge?

For the first time ever, the 48 Hour Film Project is coming to Manchester – and Printworks is proud to be the official home of this high-speed, high-stakes filmmaking challenge.

From 13–15 June 2025, teams across the city will race against the clock to write, shoot, and edit a short film in just 48 hours. No sleep. No limits. Just pure creativity. Then, just days later, films will premiere in front of a live audience at Vue Cinema, right here at Printworks.

🎥 Kick-off: Friday 13 June, 6:30pm at Vue Cinema

🏆 Films will compete for local awards, with the top pick going on to Filmapalooza 2026 – and potentially the Cannes Short Film Corner.

🌟 Plus, select entries will be handpicked by the Executive Director of Raindance Film Festival for special screenings this summer.

Whether you’re a filmmaker, student, or just a group of mates with a smartphone, this is your chance to shine. No big budget required—just bold ideas and the drive to create something unforgettable.

This is your moment, Manchester. Let’s make movie magic.
