Printworks is proud to support the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity (GMMC) with the new Tap to Donate scheme

GMMC are a growing network of dedicated people who believe homelessness has no place here in Greater Manchester. Together, they raise vital funds to invest in promising practice and innovative homelessness prevention projects.

Back in 2017, Andy Burnham pledged to achieve change for the vast numbers of people experiencing homelessness across the city-region. Ever since his election, the Mayor of Greater Manchester has donated 15% of his salary to this cause. Andy’s public campaign ‘The GM Mayor’s Homelessness Fund’ raised £250,000 online, which has evolved into the starting the GMMC in 2018, with a new board of independent trustees and Andy as Patron. In 3 years the GMMC have raised almost £3 million for Manchester, and have 3 new strategic priorities for the future:

Emergency Response – By working together through ‘A Bed Every Night‘, Greater Manchester has achieved a 52% reduction in the numbers of people sleeping rough on the streets of our city-region.
Places and Spaces – GMMC are supporting the construction of new homes and helping the temporary accommodation sector, including the new Embassy Village project
Targeted Prevention – GMMC are developing pioneering new pilots that seek to stop homelessness before it becomes a reality.
